  • How can this course benefit me and/or my organization?

The course can offer personal benefit in providing understanding of why you make the decisions you do, and how those decisions are activated and implemented. For example, of the more than 35,000 decisions you make in a day, majority of them are made on impulse without you actively thinking through the process. Do you actively decide to scratch your nose, clear your throat, or swat that fly away - or did you just act on impulse because of your past experiences, feelings, and knowledge about the situation. In each of these cases, our decisions are typically made and we are acting before we've actually given the situation any thought at all! This can be detrimental when the decisions we have to make can have a lasting impact on our lives, or the lives of those around us. And in these cases, while we like to think we always take the time to make intentional decisions, the reality remains that we don't! Unless we've learned and practiced the skills to pause the brains impulses long enough to make well-thought-out and conscious decisions! This is where the course can help! Better decisions for you, and in turn, better decisions for your organization!

  • Will I gain any specific takeaways that I can use while I further develop my decision-making process?

Absolutely! While the knowledge gained in the course is enough to change most people's perspectives on their personal decision-making process, as you will learn in the course, action is necessary to actually create behavioural change... in this case, knowledge is not sufficient! After gaining insight into 'why' and 'how' we make the decisions we do (and why those sneaky impulsive decisions are so invasive), you will be offered two takeaway strategies that you can use to practice the skills of decision-making, and integrate them into your everyday habits and actions!

  • Who can benefit from taking this course?

Literally, EVERYONE! While the course can offer obvious benefit to organizational leaders who are engaged in high-level decision making that can significantly impact organizational success, there is equal benefit to supervisors and workers who are making decisions on a daily basis that can, and often do, significantly impact their own lives and the lives of those around them, in addition to the success of the organization. And while the course is offered through the context of the workplace, the knowledge and skills discussed throughout are equally impactful and applicable to the personal decisions we make in our personal lives, with our children, partners, families, and friends!

  • Can this course count toward professional development?

The answer to this one will most likely depend on your organizational professional development requirements, and/or designation specific requirements. The course involves approximately 3-4 hours of active learning, including reflection and application activities. You will have access to the course objectives document as validation of your participation, and will be awarded a completion certificate once you successfully complete the course.

  • Why should I choose Cammac Learning Evolution to further my learning in this area?

Because we care, and we know our stuff. And while we recognize how 'blahhh' this sounds, we stand by it. We differ from other providers in that our courses and workshops are developed by subject matter experts in the areas of occupational health and safety, developmental psychology, and human behaviour. Additionally, we also ensure our courses and workshops are developed and facilitated in alignment with principles of adult learning. Our content is clear, applicable, and we use a variety of development techniques to ensure all styles of learning are considered and benefited. Otherwise, it's honestly difficult to find related courses that focus on offering meaningful personal awareness and application of emotional intelligence skills and abilities. It is very difficult to address teaching and learning in the area of human behaviour without specialized experience and knowledge in the area of psychology - and our courses are all built to represent the underlying psychological concepts that need to be considered, to help create behavioural change.
